CLINICAL EXPERIENCE

• I can perform the following major general surgical operations:
Hemicolectomy, Gastrojejunostomy, Colostomy, Appendicectomies, Hernia Repairs, Subtotal Thyroidectomy, Splenectomy, Cholecystectomy etc.

CLINICAL EXPERIENCE (Contd)

• I can perform nearly all open urological operations from Pyeloplasty, Radical Nephrectomy, Radical Retropubic Prostatectomy, Urethroplasty to Urinary diversion and undiversion procedures, insertion of penile prosthesis etc.

• I can perform Transurethral Resection of the Prostate Gland, Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumours, Ureteric Stenting, other Endoscopic Urological procedures, Laparoscopic Urological procedures etc.

• I can perform renal Transplantation using organs from living related, heart beating and non-heart beating donors, all types of access for dialysis and other surgical procedures encountered in Renal Transplant patients.

• Limited experience in islet cell transplantation.


ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE

• I served on several committees set up to resolve specific problems in hospitals and colleges of medicine in Nigeria, the United Kingdom, Oman and Kuwait from 1984 -till date.

• As the Secretary of the Nephro-Urology Club of Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, (January 1995 - January 1998) I organised bi-monthly scientific meetings for the society.

• As the Head, Division of Urological Surgery, Department of Surgery, College of Medicine, Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat, Oman (November 1994 - January 1998) I was responsible for teaching medical and postgraduate students, supervision of research projects and day to day running of the Urology Unit. I also took an active part in the National Renal Transplant Programme of Oman.

• As a Co-ordinator, Overseas Elective Programme, College of Medicine, Sultan Qaboos University Muscat, Oman (January 1997 - January 1998) I liaised with universities abroad for placement of medical students for their electives.

• As the Secretary of Kuwait Urological Surgeons Association (December 1999 –March 2002), I was responsible for organising bi-monthly scientific meetings for the society.


TEACHING EXPERIENCE

• I have taught student nurses, medical students and surgical residents on surgical principles and practice from 1984 to date.

• I have presented the results of various research projects at more than 60 different international scientific meetings from 1986 to date.
