Aims and Scope

World Journal of Islamic History and Civilization (WJIHC) is an international refereed journal published by the International Digital Organization for Scientific Information (IDOSI). The aim of WJIHC is to promote scholarly scientific research on Islamic History and Civilization within interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches. The scope of the journal covers classical to modern studies on Islam and Muslims which may include the area of history, geography, socio-politics, socio-economics, the two core sources, arts, laws, gender, thoughts, leadership and civilizational studies. Other areas may also be considered within the frame of Islamic History and Civilization.

The journal invites original papers, review articles, technical reports and short communications containing new insight into any aspect of applied sciences that are not published or not being considered for publication elsewhere. The publication of submitted manuscripts is subject to peer review and both general and technical aspects of the submitted paper are reviewed before publication. Authors are advised to suggest several potential reviewers who are familiar with the technical aspect of their paper. Final decision on any paper is made by the Editor in Chief.

Ethics and Malpractice

WJIHC is committed to maintain the highest ethical standards in its publication. In order to ensure the outcome of providing our readers with an academic journal of high quality, WJIHC follows COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors. In general, WJIHC is guided by the following principles:

Editors Responsibilities: The editors of WJIHC are responsible for deciding which of the articles submitted to the journal should be published. They have complete responsibility and authority to reject/accept an article. The editors should have no conflict of interest with respect to articles they evaluate. In evaluating the submitted works, the editors should limit themselves only to the intellectual content. The editors can choose to ignore any material that breaks legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement and plagiarism. The editors must ensure the confidentiality of the submitted works until they are published, except in the case of suspicion of double submission. In case the editors decide not to publish a material, the manuscript should not be used for other purposes without the express written consent of the author.

Reviewers Responsibilities: The reviewers of WJIHC assist the editors in taking the decision of publishing a submitted manuscript. The reviewers are bound to treat the manuscript received for peer reviewing as confidential, and must not use the information obtained through peer review for personal advantage. The reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers. Judgments should be objective, reviewers should point out relevant published work which is not yet cited and reviewed articles should be treated confidentially.

Authors Responsibilities: The authors should ensure that they have submitted an entirely written original works. When the authors use other materials, sources should be appropriately cited. Any attempt of plagiarism will not be tolerated and should be followed by the rejection of the submitted manuscript. Authors should not submit the same work or describe essentially the same research in more than one journal. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior, unless otherwise specified. The authors are obliged to participate in peer review process, all authors have significantly contributed to the research. The authors should indicate that all data in article are real and authentic. All authors are obliged to provide retractions or corrections of mistakes.

Publication and authorship: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Where there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The submitted original manuscripts should state source of financial support if they are funded. It is important that the manuscripts not involve in plagiarism, no fraudulent data, and it is forbidden to publish same research in more than one journal, unless otherwise stated with a significant change of the data. The submitted manuscripts should have list of references except they are reviews or reports.

Fair play: The editors / reviewers at any time evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
